"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and DO NOT
FORGET all his benefits:" [Psalm 103:2]
Below is a brief summary of the
Audio teaching: "Know Your
Benefits!"
God has made some absolutely terrific
promises to us, and it is thru these
promised 'benefits' that we become
partakers of the life that He has
ordained for us - Yet the average
Christian has little knowledge of these
promises or how they manifest in our
life. This lesson is designed to help
you learn about those promises and how
to see them manifest in their fullness
in your life.

Have You Ever Asked Yourself: •
Is Healing For Everyone or Just Some People?
• How Come God Doesn't Heal Me?
• Why Doesn't God answer My prayer?
• If My God Really "Supplies All My Need": How Come I'm Still Broke?
• Is the Prosperity Gospel True?
• How Come God Doesn't Deliver Me From My Affliction?
If any of these questions sound familiar then I encourage you to read
the following article and consider carefully the scriptures that provide
the answers to these questions, and many more.
KNOW YOUR BENEFITS:
One of the most dangerous things a Christian can do is to neglect
learning, or forget what the Word of God tells us regarding what Christ
accomplished FOR us on the cross. The Bible tells us clearly that
is it because of what we do NOT know (lack of knowledge) that God's
people (Christians) suffer and eventually are destroyed.
I know! Hard to believe right!?
Yet God Himself has told us that it is thru our knowledge of His
promises that we are granted access into the abundant life that
Jesus came to give us: And failing to learn these promises and
how they operate in our life is what causes so many to suffer
needlessly with sickness, pain, debt, lack, affliction, addictions,
oppression and more terrible things.
PROMISED BENEFITS:
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and DO NOT FORGET all
his benefits:" [Psalm 103:2]
Notice that we are told NOT to forget ALL His benefits. That means that
not only are we to learn what these benefits are - but we are
also to remind ourselves of them so as NOT to forget them. Sadly, the
average child of God has never learned them - and when most are taught
the benefits they quickly forget them when circumstances or
situations arise that challenge the promises of God, clinging instead to
traditional religious teachings and doctrines.
THE IMPORTANCE OF KNOWING:
Seeing as how it was the Lord Himself who admonished us to learn
what benefits we have in being His people, as well as warning us NOT to
forget these benefits, then it will serve us well to have more than just
a casual understanding of these things. Instead, time and effort
must be made on our part to learn about these benefits as well as
how to access them.
The first step in learning about the benefits is to understand
that in NEW Testament Scripture they are referred to as 'precious
promises'.
"Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through
the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain
unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us
to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine
nature…." [2Peter 1:2-4 KJV]
Consider how this same passage is translated into a more modern English:
Grace and peace will come to you to you many times
over as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus, our Master.
Everything that you will ever need, want, require, or desire has been
miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately,
the One who invited us to God: Namely Jesus Our Lord. We were also given
absolutely terrific promises and these are our ticket to participating
in the abundant, victorious, and overcoming life that God has ordained
for us...." [PSRV]
It is important to notice that in both translations that it is
our knowledge of the promises (benefits) that allows grace and
peace to 'come to us' - AND, it is thru our knowledge of
the promises that allows us to participate in the abundant ,
victorious and overcoming life that God has ordained for us.
SO WHAT ARE MY BENEFITS?
The answer lies in what the Word of God has stated as belonging to us
the children of God and "heirs according to the promise" [Galatians
3:27-29]. These promised benefits can be found and throughout the Old
and New Testaments.
One way to gain knowledge is to look at every promise of GOOD and
BLESSING that God promised Abraham and His descendants. Why, because
Galatians 3:27-29 tells us "For as many of you as
have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew
nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor
female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's,
then are you Abraham's seed (descendants), and heirs according to the
promise."
You may be asking "what promise?" Answer: Every promise of
blessing that the Lord made to Abraham and Israel (his descendants).
There are too many to list here but some of the more significant
promises can be found in:
• Deuteronomy 7:13-15
• Deuteronomy 28:1-14
• Deuteronomy 8:7-18
• And Many, Many more....
Also, we have a list of some of these benefits in the same passage that
tells us not to forget them: Psalm 103:2-5:
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget even one of his
benefits:
• Who forgives all your iniquities
• who heals all your diseases
• Who redeems your life from destruction
• who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies
• Who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that your youth is
renewed like the eagle's.
Let us not forget the promises of:
• Deliverance [Col 1:12-14],
• Wisdom and guidance [James 1:5-6 & John 16:13]
• Safety and protection [Psalm 91]
• Abundance [John 10:10]
• Provision: [Philippians 4:19]
• And many, many more.
GET TO KNOW YOUR BENEFITS:
Beloved, grace, mercy, peace, healing, health, safety, deliverance,
provision, wisdom, guidance and much more are all ours as children of
God. All we need do is to learn them, and have the confident
assurance that the Lord WILL see to it that they manifest in our life as
we place our complete trust in Him to FULFILL His promises just
as He says he will.
• "For all the promises of God in him are yea, and
in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us." [2Corinthians 1:20]
• "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith
without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)" [Hebrews
10:23]
SICKNESS AND DEATH:
Whether it be just a simple ailment such as the mother of Peter being
healed of a fever [Matt 8 14-15] or a paralyzed servant of a Roman
officer being healed [Matt 8:5-13] no sickness, no disease, no pain and
no affliction is too big, too powerful, or too hard for God!
Even death itself is not big enough to stop the power of God when one
chooses to place their hope and trust in His mighty power and
willingness to heal and/or restore to life. Look at just a few of the
more familiar examples we have in scripture:
• The Woman's son brought back to life [2 Kings 4:8-37]
• Daughter of Jairus Raised From the Dead [Mark 5:22-23 / 35-42]
• Lazarus Raised From the Dead [John 11:32-44]
• And other examples from scripture that are too many to list here
