that in me (the Word) you may have peace. In this world you will have
trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." [John
16:33]
YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLES!:
One of the most misunderstood principles of the Christian
life is the fact that Christians do, and will continue to
experience tests, trials, troubles, tribulations and afflictions until
the Lord returns.
More often than not, most people are of the opinion that once they
accept the Lord Jesus as their Savior all of their troubles are over.
Nothing could be farther from the truth! Jesus never said it! The
Prophets never said it! God never said it! And, the Bible does not
teach it.
Contrary to what most people believe, the Bible teaches very clearly
that God's people (Christians) will experience tests, trials,
troubles, tribulations and afflictions as long as we are on this earth
and until such time as the Lord returns and our bodies are transformed
into the glorious bodies that await every born-again believer.
WHAT DO THE SCRIPTURES SAY?
• "Many are the afflictions of the
righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all." [Psalm
34:19]"
• "Yea, and all that will live godly in
Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." [2Tim 3:12]
The Message Bible states it like this: "Anyone who
wants to live all out for Christ is in for a lot of trouble; there's no
getting around it."
• "I have told you these things, so
that in me (the Word) you may have peace. In this world you will have
trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." [John 16:3]
• "And in the same way the ones sown upon stony
ground are those who, when they hear the Word, at once receive and
accept and welcome it with joy; [17] And they have no real root in
themselves, and so they endure for a little while; then when trouble or
persecution arises on account of the Word, they immediately are offended
and they stumble and fall away." [Mark 4:16-17]
• "But call to remembrance the former days, in
which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of
afflictions;" [Heb 10:32] - - The Basic English version states it
this way: "Remember when you first learned the
truth. You endured a lot of hardship and pain and you went through a
great war of troubles (as you sought to overcome)"
BE PREPARED:
For some people the tests, trials, troubles or afflictions will come in
the form of physical illness or injury, for others it will
be in the realm of finances, still others will face issues
requiring deliverance or issues needful of the manifest power of
God to overcome whatever they are facing.
Yet, while the Word of God tells us that there will be a fight
(of faith) and that we are to resist the devil using the shield
of faith to ward off his attacks, most Christians are unprepared
for the attacks when they come - and worse - they have little or no
understanding of how to overcome these things when they come
against us!
The result is exactly what the Bible says the result will be when
the people of God do not understand how to deal with tests, trials,
troubles, tribulations and afflictions: "My people
are destroyed for a lack of knowledge" [Hosea 4:6]
PROMISED VICTORY!

"For everyone
born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has
overcome the world, even our faith." [1John 5:4]

"In all these
things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."
[Romans 8:37]
-
"Now thanks be
unto God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ..."
[2Cor 2:14]
Wonderful Promises!
Unfortunately, most Christians rarely if ever actually experience
the supernatural victory that can be theirs thru faith in Christ and the
promise of the Word. Instead of being triumphant and victorious
over-comers, they end up defeated, beat up, depressed, oppressed, and
discouraged!
Why? Because most have no idea how to actually obtain the victory
that could be theirs. And worse, most are surprised that they even had
to experience the battle in the first place!
Again, this is the result of the Body of Christ lacking knowledge
on the subject of tests, trials, troubles, tribulations and afflictions.
YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH - AND THE TRUTH SHALL
SET YOU FREE!
"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall
make you free." [John 8:32]
Notice that it isn't the truth that sets us free - it is
KNOWING the truth!
Until the Body of Christ knows the truth about this subject,
Christians will remain defeated, beat up, depressed, oppressed, and
discouraged!
